The Red Wall Project is a a new outdoor exhibition opportunity in Portland Oregon.
It all started during the pandemic of 2020 with the project The Work Around which encouraged artists to find exterior exhibition spaces in Portland for the month of August. This space on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Northeast Portland proved perfect for large banner art that the tenant Oregon First asked the artist to help find more art for a revolving monthly art space.
The Red Wall is a 10’ x 14’ red brick wall. Artists are invited to submit proposals for banners with themes of equity, community, and diversity. In your proposal please address the dimensions and material of your proposed banner.
We are looking for 6 artist banners to be hung from October 2020 - March 2021. All complete submissions will be reviewed. Artists will be notified by October 30, 2020. Selected artists will be expected to provide a weather resistant banner with a minimum of 4 corner grommets, two weeks before their exhibition date.
